Recording:
Elba is a boutique recording studio in the West End of Glasgow that specialises in Tracking/Recording & mixing via our collection of vintage and boutique microphones and pre amps. Housed in one of the most unique buildings in Glasgow; The very old and very Tim Burton-esque Lairds Building in the city's famous Hidden Lane - once home to local heroes such as The Blue Nile, Teenage Fanclub, Mogwai, Franz Ferdinand and still the base of indie favorites Belle and Sebastian - we are one of the most loved studios in Glasgow!
The studio offers a unique vibe which provides the perfect creative atmosphere in which to work. Well suited to multi track as well as semi live recording we are Glasgow's boutique studio - meaning what we do here is focus on capturing the source with character!
The ethos behind the studio when it was originally set up was simple; to provide a completely different recording space - a small, intimate, personal and creative space with vibey surroundings in which to make great recordings that carry a unique fingerprint sound. The appeal of the studio is its intimate, relaxed and warm atmosphere which can practically be heard in the recordings!
Mixing:
We offer a full and complete mixing service at Elba to cater for just about any style and genre! Whether you want to mix fully in house or at our affiliate studio: Underworld Mixing & Production Studio we can provide a high quality finished product at an affordable rate that wont break the bank!
Underworld boasts the best & largest selection of high end classic vintage and esoteric analogue outboard in Scotland. Based in the popular Merchant City area of Glasgow this studio is the ideal place to do your final mixes, ..... you can practically smell the valves in the air! We offer all Elba clients a full professional mastering service through our exclusive partnership with Eighth Nerve Studios at £30/$45/€35 per track. Please call for further details.

With our unique multi studio set up via RecordMixMaster we are Scotland's leading commercial analogue studio as well as having the benefits of a high spec digital front end. RecordMixMaster is the only recording set up in Glasgow to have one studio location and dedicated staff for recording/tracking, another studio with specialist engineers for the mixing stage and a separate Mastering service.
